Kennedy and Diana reportedly did not get along. Sources claimed that Kennedy wanted Mitte to prioritize their relationship, while the actor remained close to his mother and sister LaCiene.
Mitte was reportedly unwilling to break ties with his mother. According to sources, the disagreement created serious tension between him and Kennedy.
The couple knew each other for almost a decade before they started dating in 2020. Mitte proposed to Kennedy during a fundraising event in San Diego on October 10, 2025.
Sources told TMZ that Mitte and Kennedy were still together for about a week before his death. However, it is not clear whether their relationship ended in the coming days or not.
