This marks the first departure of a major cast member before season 52 of Saturday Night Live. In a heartfelt farewell, the outstanding cast member described the Comedy Institute as the “greatest privilege” of his life. “It’s really hard to leave ‘SNL,’ but it feels like the time is right,” he wrote.

The 37-year-old comedian confirms his departure from his iconic sketch show Instagram On Thursday, July 16. He shared the news with a series of photos from his time on the show. She wrote: “After 7 amazing seasons at SNL, I have decided it is time for my next chapter.”
He added, “It’s a cliché to say this, but working on SNL has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t believe I got the chance to be a part of it.” “I fell in love with the place as soon as I walked through the door.”
Fineman joined Saturday Night Live as a featured player in 2019 and was promoted to the repertory cast within two years. She became known extensively for her celebrity influence on everyone – including stars like Timothée Chalamet, Jennifer Coolidge, Nicole Kidman and Drew Barrymore, as well as a memorable Queen Elizabeth II bit.
The former SNL star expressed his deep gratitude to the show’s creator and executive producer, Lorne Michaels, for the opportunity. He thanked his castmates, writers and crew for their support and friendship throughout his tenure. She wrote, “I’ll miss it terribly. But the people who work there are my family, and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be far away.”
