Christopher Nolan isn’t backing down from Odyssey casting backlash

“The Odyssey” director christopher nolan has said that all feedback regarding his upcoming film is irrelevant as these are the opinions of people who have not seen the film yet. Nolan was amazed because he had experienced all this during his years as The Batman.

Christopher Nolan calls the growing debate over The Odyssey’s casting “irrelevant”

according to PeopleNolan addressed the controversy with The Telegraph and explained that criticism “comes with the territory.” He added, “But look, these conversations that happen before people see the movie – they’re always irrelevant, because no one who is near them knows yet what the movie is really about.”

The adaptation has faced online criticism over several casting decisions, including racist reactions to Lupita Nyong’o’s portrayal of Helen of Troy and the discussion surrounding the casting of Elliot Page. People pointed out that earlier speculation incorrectly claimed that Page was cast as Achilles, when he actually portrayed the Greek warrior Sinon.

Nolan claimed that he had prior experience in such situations. He added, “But remember, I spent 10 years of my life dealing with Batman.” “When I came to Batman Begins, the writers and artists had been working on this beloved character for almost 65 years, and had a lot of scary ideas about what he represents. And what I learned during my time on that trilogy is that you can’t worry about it at all. What you have to do is respect the original text by interpreting it in the strongest way that you personally can.”

Nolan became popular after directing three Batman films with the lead character played by Christian Bale. His 2008 entry, “The Dark Knight”, was ridiculed for casting Heath Ledger, who was a romantic hero at the time. His performance eventually became one of the most acclaimed performances of the century.

The Odyssey stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, alongside Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and others. This film is going to hit the theaters on July 17.
