Forum members review the Fendi Haute Couture Fall 2026 collection, including the first look at Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Appointed in October 2025, Maria Grazia Chiuri is now well established as Fendi Creative Director. To unveil his first couture offering, the Italian designer (formerly Christian Dior) chose the city of Rome and unveiled the lineup at one of his favorite museums: the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. The show coincided with the inauguration of a reproduction of a 1985 exhibition on the brand conceived by Karl Lagerfeld. MGC took inspiration from the late Karl Lagerfeld, moving away from the glitz and opulence usually associated with the world of haute couture. Instead, the designer directed the fashion crowd’s attention toward technique and craftsmanship. Relaxed silhouettes, flowing kaftans, siren-y bias-cut long dresses, capes with flared leg trousers (all crafted in a neutral palette), and Art Deco flourishes reigned supreme throughout the collection.

“It’s even more tragic than his diary, which is a huge accomplishment, considering how tough it was.” (ladyjunone)

“One thing about MGC: She’ll insist on giving you absolutely nothing. Ever. If at all, she wore boring clothes but her casting was strong. But her casting choices are also beige.” (frenchie)

“Is Couture in the room with us?” (prilv)

“I’m probably one of MGC’s biggest haters, but I have to say it doesn’t hurt me. I think it’s a far better fit for an Italian brand than Dior. It feels very Roman, very beautiful. Probably the best Fendi show since the death of my beloved Karl.” (creative)

“Excellent collection. Really exquisite. It’s very intrinsically Fendi and a tribute to the heritage. The accuracy of these clothes is really something else; I’m thinking of the white/ivory double-faced cashmere cape and especially the dress which is divine” (Frederick01)

“Wow! This collection is absolutely stunning in its minimalist approach. I love so many of the looks. I would wear them all if I could. This is my favorite couture collection of this season.” (MMODA)
