Following the very shocking departure of Sabato de Sarno, Demna has now been installed as Gucci Creative Director for a little over twelve months. The Georgian designer is now working on his fourth collection as head of design for the iconic Italian fashion house (founded by Guccio Gucci in 1921). At exactly 8.30pm on Saturday night, Lindsay Lohan, Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian and many other A-list stars gathered in New York’s Times Square to witness Demna’s Gucci Cruise 2027 collection. Demna cast Paris Hilton, Candice Swanepoel, Tom Brady, and Cindy Crawford (to name a select few) to sculpt her first resort show for the brand. Peacoats, trenches, pencil skirts, sharp tailoring and pure unapologetic Italian glamor were stripped back in what Demna described as “Guccicore”.
