Summer House Season 10 is (almost!) over. While there’s still an epic three-part reunion to come, the cast’s time in the Hamptons has come to an end… but it’s not the last chance viewers will see them.
After years of wanting to know more about the Summer House cast’s life in New York, fans finally have it. Introduction: In the city. Here’s exactly what went in in the city Episode 1: “Welcome to New York.”
What happened in In the City Season 1 Episode 1?

After returning from a difficult summer in the Hamptons, Amanda and Kyle go their separate ways in an attempt to repair their marriage. Meanwhile, Lindsay introduced her daughter Gemma, as well as some of her close friends who are part of the cast. Apart from the newcomers, there were also familiar faces. Let’s join in…
Kyle and Amanda open up their split

In the opening scene of In the City, Kyle and Amanda meet in the apartment they once shared. Kyle began the conversation by admitting that the pair “kept in touch somewhat” following their split and the subsequent dating scandal involving West. He said, before he could move on from this and support Amanda, he wanted to “clear up a few things.”
“I look back at this summer, and it’s like you broke up with me,” he said of their relationship, which viewers saw unravel during Summer House season 10. Responding, Amanda said the attitude is “so disappointing” as she gave the relationship “everything she had”. She further explained that the idea of ”existing” without Kyle was “so impossible” at the time, which is why things got “so messed up”.
And then this scandal was exposed

After discussing the end of their relationship, Kyle asked Amanda if she had started an “emotional affair” with West before they officially separated. “Nothing was happening,” she replied, arguing that she had been “so committed” to Kyle throughout their years of marriage, including during the summer and autumn.
Amanda said of her marriage to Kyle, “I just wanted it to work.” “For you to question my loyalty in any capacity is really hurtful,” she added. “I’m not that kind of person.” Amanda then continues to insist that she never got over their relationship, reminding Kyle that he is in the past.
Despite the apparent betrayal by Amanda, Kyle said he wanted to be a “good friend” to his ex-wife. He told her, “I’m worried about you. I’m worried about your mental health.” “It’s not your responsibility, but I appreciate it,” she replied.
Kyle ends the conversation by saying that whatever “happens” moving forward is not because he is trying to “rekindle” their romance, but simply because he “cares” about Amanda. What a darling!
Lindsay introduces her “clone”…and some of the cast

Inviting fans into the “chaos” of her life since becoming a mother for the first time, Lindsay introduced Gemma, who she said is “no doubt” her daughter. She said of Gemma, “When I give someone the death look, Gemma gets (the same) death look.” “I cloned myself and then gave birth.”
To that end, Lindsay explained that she and her friends are “entering a new chapter” of their lives and “answering the big questions” of adulthood. And it’s exactly that friendship group — the cast of In the City — that Lindsay credits for getting her through her first year of motherhood.
At first, Yvonne is introduced as Lindsay’s best friend of 15 years. The essence of that friendship is made up of breakups, breastmilk, and shots of tequila. They’re close, let’s put it this way. Next on the list is Evonne’s husband Nick, followed by Georgina, one of Lindsay’s “mum friends”.
Amanda opens up about her split from Kyle

While grocery shopping with Lindsay, Amanda confides in her then-friend about how her relationship with Kyle was recently. Remember, In the City was filmed in the Hamptons directly after the summer of 2025, but the season began with a brief time jump to acknowledge the current dating scandal.
Anyway, Amanda revealed that she spent a few nights in a hotel shortly after returning from the Hamptons. And things didn’t get any better from there. In a recent couple’s counseling session, the therapist accused Amanda and Kyle of “hating each other.” This comment, among his other issues, led him to consider moving out of their shared apartment.
Later in the episode, Amanda and Kyle celebrate their wedding anniversary and – ironically – discuss separating. “I want us to date (each other) again,” Amanda said of how she thought the separation could bring them closer to each other. Her CEO slash DJ husband responded, “It’s a lot to swallow, but I’m trying to be open-minded.” “I’ve never heard of a couple breaking up and using it as a tool to get back together, but maybe that’s what we need,” he said in a confessional.
Some familiar faces from Summer House return

Former Summer House star Andrea arrived at the scene with his wife Lexi. The pair gave new viewers a recap of their romance and their recent wedding in Italy. On top of that, Andrea apparently said that Kyle parted ways without Amanda… foreshadowing a lot more!
Following this, Danielle also returned full-time to the Bravoverse. After leaving in Season 9 she has only appeared as a guest on Summer House. However, she did not return alone. Danielle is joined this season by her partner – and soon-to-be father of her child – Ioan. “It’s fast, but… once you feel like this is it, you just kind of fly into it,” she said of their whirlwind romance.
Despite how lovely Danielle is in her new relationship, she admitted she was hurt that her former friend Lindsay didn’t even know about it. “We haven’t spoken in four months,” she revealed. “I feel like she’s haunted our friendship… I hate that it’s awkward now.”
Lindsay clashes with Kenny

In the final scenes of the premiere episode, a handful of the In the City cast members meet at a bar. However, not everyone made it. On the way, Kyle and Amanda argue about the recent therapy session. Amanda leaves the conversation crying, and decides she won’t “put on a face” and pretend everything is fine.
Meanwhile, at the bar, Lindsay ran into two Bravo newcomers. Earlier in the episode, viewers met Kenny and Whitney, who took their romance to the next level by moving in together. In fact, Whitney relocated from the Midwest altogether to be with Kenny. But Lindsay had some bad ideas about that. “I’m questioning Kenny,” she said of the conversation, questioning why Whitney moved across the country without the “commitment” of an engagement.
“This is a big deal,” Lindsay told Kenny, warning him not to “mess” with their relationship. “I’m getting feelings like ‘I hate men,'” he said in response. Thankfully, Lindsay had the ideal clap for this, telling him that she’s actually “allergic to annoying men.” The mic dropped.
Lindsay pulled out receipts

When Lindsay was asked, she took a page from Heather Gay’s book and produced a series of receipts in a confessional. About her friendship with Danielle, who was hanging out at the bar with the rest of the group. Some of these date back to 2019, and include an allegation that Danielle “gave Carl a handjob in the back of an Uber.”
Back at the bar, Danielle approaches Lindsay to say hi… and extend an invitation for a proper meeting at lunch. “I’m a little busy these days,” her former BFF replied coolly. “I’ll think about it.” Ouch!
The couple’s heated exchange became a topic of conversation in subsequent hangouts as well. As Lindsay, Amanda, Yvonne and Georgia join in for cocktails, they discuss Danielle’s new relationship as well as the fallout from her friendship. “You’re blowing my mind right now,” Lindsay said about the tea that Amanda brought for Danielle, which also included the revelation that her new partner is still married.
in the city Continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the next day.
