Lizzo isn’t keeping quiet about her frustrations with Atlantic Records ahead of the release of her new album in June. The singer claimed that the label did not follow through on many of the marketing plans for “B-TCH”. She shared these complaints through a TikTok video posted on her backup account LizzoIRL.
In a video, Lizzo reminded fans that “B-TCH” was coming soon, and asked them to support it quickly. “IRL, we can’t flop. My album is coming out in 23 days. Have you placed your preorder yet?” He said.
His sudden increase in online postings was explained by the artist himself. “I’m posting every day because this algorithm wants to see me (Khiya) in the shelter and bitch, I’m fighting for my life.” Fans immediately began asking why major advertisements for the album had not been seen yet.
according to radio blastOne person in particular mentioned hoardings. This led Lizzo to respond directly in the comments. “Baby, I’m asking the same question because I definitely approved of the billboards in the marketing meetings. I definitely approved of the commercials, but the crickets,” she said.
The criticism of Atlantic Records continued in another TikTok reply video. “I don’t know, but I’m pushing my own label right now because I really love it — I feel like there’s no marketing money being thrown at my ideas,” she said.
The “Truth Hurts” hitmaker said a meeting involving “incredible ideas” took place about a month ago. However, he claimed that none of those plans were implemented later. Lizzo also said that she regularly sends the label text messages with promotional suggestions for the album.
During the same discussion, the 38-year-old explained how difficult online promotion has become for artistes. He added, “In 2026, unless you’re a brand new artist or someone no one has ever heard of and is being recognized, it’s really hard to avoid bullshit.”
“I have people who want to buy my album, but how are they going to buy it if they don’t know it’s for sale?” Lizzo added. In 2023, Lizzo was released for “B-TCH” after former dancers faced allegations of workplace harassment. The claims were denied by him at the time.
