RHONY newcomer Daisy Toye wants to protect her friendship with Martha Stewart
Toye explained her decision during an interview with Page Six Virtual Real-Tea. “I don’t want to fight him,” she said. “I love where she is right now. I can FaceTime her whenever I need her. I even do her makeup.” Stewart has made several appearances this season, and Toye said her friend gets a “kick” from watching clips of herself on the show.
Stewart’s name has also come up in drama between women. Earlier this month, fellow newcomer Hailey Glassman claimed that Stewart “ate and sweat a lot” after meeting the cast at the Polo Bar in New York City before filming of season 16 began. Toy disagreed and clarified that the group had already eaten when Stewart arrived. He said Stewart had only received a last-minute invitation to meet everyone.
According to Toye, Stewart was attending a conference and planned to arrive around 10 p.m., by which time dinner had ended, and Stewart only stayed for “10 minutes”. Toye said Stewart may have taken a sip of his martini or margarita. “Of course she won’t pay,” Toye explained, adding, “She didn’t come to dinner.”
Toye joined the show this season alongside Erica Hammond and Glassman. She knew Hammond through their mutual friend Stewart even before filming began. Stewart isn’t officially a part of the RHONY cast, but her presence and connections have brought her into the women’s conversation.
Toye appears happy to keep their friendship out of the show’s drama. The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesday nights at 8pm ET on Bravo, with new episodes airing the following day on Peacock.
