Dennis Quaid shows support for Spencer Pratt but doesn’t give any reason…
The Rookie star showed his support while accepting the 2026 Patriot Ally Award at the event on May 23. fox news digital Asked why he was supporting the former reality-TV-star turned politician, Quaid said, “Why? What are you talking about? Why? Just look around, man.”
The 42-year-old announced his candidacy in January 2026 and is running against Mayor Karen Bass, who has served as the 43rd mayor of Los Angeles, since 2022.
Although Quaid did not give a reason for his support of Pratt, he previously criticized Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for her response to the historic Palisades wildfire in January 2025. He was among the many who were evacuated from their homes in Los Angeles.
As reported Fox 11 Los Angeles, Quaid said, “A year and a half ago, AIG pulled their insurance. That was my insurance company at the time in California, and it became almost impossible to get fire insurance. There are people out there who have lost everything, and insurance companies – they’re all about possibility. And worst-case scenarios happen. And because they can happen, worst-case scenarios happen.”
He added, “Mayor Bass was given five days’ warning of what could have been Santa Ana’s record winds, and she decided to go to Ghana anyway. And when she came back, the video went viral where there was this guy getting off the plane and he was a reporter. Yeah, maybe he was ambushed or something, but nothing to say in that interview? You have to get out there in the field.”
Quaid further said, “There was no evacuation plan. It makes me wonder about the next earthquake, the next landslide that is going to happen. I am actually in favor of withdrawal. I think it is very important not to wait for the next election.”
