A national poll released by the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) shows that there has been a significant increase in the number of Americans who view the President donald trump As an authoritarian threat.
This marks a steady increase compared to the 52% holding that view at the start of 2025 and the 56% recorded later in the autumn. In contrast, only 38% of respondents see him as a “strong leader who should be given the power needed to restore America’s greatness.”
Recent poll results on perceptions of Donald Trump show that Americans view him as a “dangerous dictator.”
According to statistics, 59% of Americans now agree with the statement that “President Trump is a dangerous dictator “His power must be limited before he destroys American democracy.”
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told a news outlet, “The last vote took place on November 5, 2024, when nearly 80 million Americans overwhelmingly elected President Trump to carry out his populist and common-sense agenda.”
He added, “No other president in history has done more for the American people than President Trump, who is working tirelessly to create jobs, reduce inflation, increase housing affordability, and much more.”
The election results come in the backdrop of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran to finalize talks that focus on issues such as extending the ceasefire for 60 days, opening the Strait of Hormuz and insisting on Iran reducing its nuclear stockpile.
According to the survey, nearly two-thirds of Americans, 66 percent, have an unfavorable view of Trump’s handling of the war with Iran. The majority, 51 percent, hold a very unfavorable view, while 15 percent hold a “somewhat unfavorable” view.
Donald Trump has long been in controversies regarding his policies, wasteful expenditure and dictator-like governance. The question is whether more citizens are finding flaws in his methods.
