Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spared very little for their reported wedding celebration, transforming New York City’s Madison Square Garden into a fairy-tale-inspired venue with tall trees, flowing drapery and castle-style decor. However, according to daily MailThe guests were divided in one part of the reception. Immediately after the ceremony, the newlyweds reportedly hosted a raffle that featured high-end prizes including Chanel handbags, Cartier watches and a vintage 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.
An insider claimed the gift lasted about an hour. βIt was really awkward,β the source told the outlet. “Immediately after the ceremony, Taylor and Travis held a raffle and gave away expensive gifts for an hour. Everyone was awestruck.” The same source said some guests questioned the concept of giving luxury gifts to celebrity attendees. The insider alleged, “It was a circus meet and greet. Everyone seemed to be wondering why they were giving out Chanel bags as if we were all their poor fans? It was quite insulting. It killed the atmosphere.”
Not everyone saw the raffle the same way. One guest reportedly described the gift as “playful”, especially after winning one of the Chanel handbags. The guest also said that many of the big personalities present showed little interest in attending the games for which raffle tickets were provided.
According to previous reports, guests earned raffle entries by playing skee-ball, mini golf and football-themed carnival games before organizers drew the prizes. Swift and Kelce spent most of the time greeting attendees at the reception, with the NFL star reportedly being introduced to several influential figures in the entertainment industry.
