Small Town Trouble: Texas Trailer Shows Wild Marriage Drama
Bravo released a first look at the series on October 22 before premiering on November 18 at 9pm ET. The cast includes Aryn Williams, Annari Uys, Gabby Hernandez Huffman, Ellie McNally and Hailey Head. Eli calls Bourne a “Hallmark town”, while Hailey describes its “cute, sweet, quirky vibes”. Aryan also says that the town is “conservative”, but Ellie warns viewers not to trust their first impressions.
“You’d be surprised how many women are married in traditional families, but also sleep with other women,” Aryan says in the trailer, adding, “It’s a lot.” Aryan, who is openly bisexual, then raises a toast with Annari and Gabby for “having vaginas and liking vaginas.” The preview also shows a woman saying, “Jesus isn’t mad at me for science-teaching.”
Marital troubles bring even more tension to the group. Hailey says people talk about her 11-year relationship with Josh Marsalis because she’s not married yet. Josh responded, “If it ain’t broke, you don’t fix it.” However, Hailey later cries, saying, “He’s completely abandoning me. It’s not fair to me.”
Gabi also appears to be questioning her relationship with Jordan Huffman. When Ellie asks if she’s afraid that she and Jordan may no longer be together, Gabi replies, “I really hope that doesn’t happen.” Jordan admits that he is “trying to figure out” if he feels comfortable with their current marital arrangement. Josh also questions whether Jordan accepts Gabi “having sex with another woman”.
Problems arise in female friendships also. Aryan says she thought she had a true friendship, but Aly replies about their past differences. It appears that Annari and Aryan were also heading towards a confrontation when Annari mentioned Aryan’s husband, Nick Williams. Aryan warns her, “Don’t talk about my husband now.” The trailer teases a tense first season, with secret relationships and friendships under pressure.
