Jamie-Lynn Sigler opens up about feeling exhausted and unmotivated during MS battle
Sigler discusses her current health journey in her latest episode messi podcast. She co-hosts the show with Christina Applegate, who also suffers from multiple sclerosis. Sigler received his MS diagnosis in 2001 and said he currently lacks energy and motivation. “I don’t have a lot of fight in me right now,” he admitted.
Sigler said she hasn’t adopted habits that usually help her feel better. He hasn’t moved his body a lot or done a lot of physical therapy. “I’m eating good, but not great,” she shared. She also said that she is not doing things that she knows will make her feel good.
Sigler said she is trying to accept her current limitations without judging herself. “I’m just trying to give myself permission to not be a warrior, not to be a complete patient,” she explained. She said she wanted to be “a person who is tired and unmotivated” and “a little bit unmotivated.” Sometimes, she added, she just wants to “be a blob and exist.”
Sigler also acknowledged his responsibilities. “I still have a lot of responsibilities,” she said, adding that she is not taking on anything extra. She asked others to reassure her that this option was okay.
Later, Sigler told an audience that living with MS requires daily choices about when to move forward and when to rest. He said he has spent years pushing himself to perform better despite MS. “I just don’t have it in me right now,” he admitted. He hopes his motivation comes back soon. For now, Sigler said she’ll be proud of the choices she’s making for herself.
