The program featured several commercials for Monster Energy drinks, which Jon Stewart joked seemed to be taking a dig at Donald Trump’s age. he said in his monologue The Daily Show“Monster Energy Drink? Is it really that good? Are we just taunting the old man now?”
The talk show host further joked that the ad took a dig at Trump’s apparent sleeplessness, asserting, “Quite a late night, Mr. President. Getting sleepy? An early morning conversation? I bet you’re not man enough to wear a red, blue and white raspberry Sizzler!”
Additionally, Stewart criticized UFC events for making fun of the sport. He added, “What a divine travesty of an event that somehow managed to find a way to devalue both combat sports and our national dignity. Who broadcast this shameful nonsense?”
Apart from Jon Stewart, Bill Maher also hit out at Donald Trump for holding a UFC event at the White House. He commented, “Our President is turning 80, and to celebrate, there’s a UFC fight on the lawn. So the Emperor is holding gladiator games on his birthday” (via hill).
On the other hand, UFC boss Dana White called it a successful event and said, “It was an amazing experience; it was a unique experience.” However, per espnHe further shared that it would be difficult to organize this event again. White said, “I can’t stand it. I will never do Sphere again, and we will never do this again.”
The UFC Freedom 250 event held on June 14 had over 4,000 guests in attendance, including VIPs, military members and others.
