Cunningham addressed the viral ad on his newly rebranded podcast, No Hesitation with Sophie Cunningham and Drew Hanlen. For context, the ad features Sweeney posing in minimal clothing with sports equipment for a sports prediction platform, which immediately got people talking.
At first, Cunningham questioned whether Sweeney even gambled in sports. “A huge amount of text messages, DMs, comments from people wanting to talk to me about the Sidney Sweeney ad. I have a lot of ideas, but like this is the first one, like does she even gamble in sports? Like it’s just inauthentic. You know what I mean?” He said.
Additionally, Cunningham said she was not at all surprised by the way Sweeney presented the brand. “Like, am I surprised by how he represented the brand? No. Like, he’s built his entire career this way.” Still, she admitted, “Do I like it? Like, that particular ad. Not really. Like, I’m like, what are we doing?” However, she quickly added, “She’s earning her own money. Go do your thing, sister.”
